The PWD, Madhya Pradesh floated a closed design competition for the State Cancer Institute at Jabalpur being one of the 20 such hospitals identified by the Government of India. The institute was supposed to be housed within the existing campus for the NSCB Medical Institute and State Hospital in the city and therefore had to be carefully designed to define the exsiting vocabulary. In addition to this 300 bedded Tertiary Care Center there were residences for doctors designed too.
The designed scored position with the shortlisted three designs by the authorities.
